Al Nardslico is a strategic thinker who has mentored a number of successful executives and helped companies build and maintain high-performance management teams throughout the years. His current role is as the primary shareholder and CEO of GigaTECH. Additionally, he supports a portfolio of small entrepreneur businesses as a member of the board of directors and executive management consultant. He is a highly respected leader, innovator and visionary with a rare ability to motivate and inspire. Al is an upstate New York-born computer engineer and businessman who truly enjoys the challenge of business. After completing service with the U.S. Navy in 1986, Al worked as an engineering consultant at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in the Advanced Systems Design Group.

A DAV member and longtime supporter, Al received his degree in computer science and information systems from the State University of New York Empire State College, and after some brief independent consulting gigs, he co-founded Systems Made Simple (SMS) in 1991. He managed daily operations and profit and loss responsibilities within SMS for 20 years as chairman of the board, president and principal founder. During his tenure, SMS evolved from a garage startup to an industry-leading Federal Health IT company with hundreds of employees nationwide and over $350 million in sales. SMS achieved Inc. 5000 honors six years running, including Inc. 500 honors in two of those years, until its “entrepreneurial American dream” sale to Lockheed Martin in the fall 2014.

Most recently, he embarked on a passion project to write a trilogy series, War of Fear, bringing to life a long-standing desire to tell the story of a little-known but amazing warrior who was instrumental in the developing the special forces behind Genghis Kahn’s army. Under the alias, Umberto Nardolicci, the first book Eye of the Nomad will be released in November of 2024 with all proceeds from his books being donated to veteran organizations.
